Q: Do you give free
estimates?
A: Yes, but they are not estimates. One of our
consultants will meet you in
your home and give you an exact price of
what your project will cost. Not an estimate.
Q:
How long will it take to complete the job?
A: Once we have all of you materials on hand, we will
start your project. The length of time it takes to complete a project
varies from job to job due to
countless variables, however, the average
kitchen or bathroom remodel takes
5-10 days.
Q:
Can I expect you to be there until the job is done?
A: One we start a job we do not stop until it is
finished.
Q:
Will I have a lot of choices and be able to get what I want?
A: We have an unbelievable selection of cabinets,
countertops, tile, and
fixtures from which to choose.
Q:
What types of wood do you have to offer for cabinets?
A: We offer hardwoods such as oak, maple, hickory,
cherry, walnut, or pine,
and high pressure laminate or Thermafoil
laminate.
Q:
Does it cost a lot more for custom cabinets compared to home
center
modular type cabinets?
A: For comparable quality, when considering the cost of the complete job
all-inclusive including installation, accessories, tax, delivery, our
products will be
very comparable to any home center cabinets.
Q:
Can home centers do custom cabinets?
A: Absolutely not, all cabinets sold by home centers
are modular. All of the installation is done by sub-contractors not
affiliated with the home center. Our clients can choose from stock,
semi-custom or custom cabinets.
Q:
What choices do I have for molding, accessories, and hardware?
A: We offer an unbelievable selection of hardware and
accessories from
which to choose.
Q:
Do you only do kitchens and bathrooms?
A: We have a complete range of interior remodeling and
carpentry services to offer our clients, i.e. kitchens, bathrooms,
basements, additions, garages,
laundry rooms, home office, entertainment
centers, closets, finish carpentry, ceramic tile, and pre-finished wood
flooring. We also handle new residential construction as well as
commercial buildings.
Q:
Do you only handle large projects?
A: No. We are more than willing to tackle the small
projects as well. These
might include minor plumbing or electrical
repairs, small carpentry projects, countertop replacement, etc.
Q:
What different types of countertops do you offer?
A: Your choices of countertops include high pressure
laminate, commonly
known as Formica or Wilsonart, Marbelite brand
cultured marble, Corian brand solid surface, Cambria and Zodiaq
engineered quartz surface, or granite.
Q:
What is engineered stone?
A: Engineered stone's primary component is either
granite or quartz plus and additive consisting of a polymer resin.
Q:
What are the benefits of engineered stone over natural stone?
A: Engineered stone is a non-porous surface and never
has to be sealed or treated. Natural stone is porous and it does have to
be sealed or treated to
prevent staining or bacteria growth.
Q: What is
cultured marble?
A: Cultured marble is generally used for vanities in
bathrooms and is a plastic based material covered with epoxy or a gel
coat. The gel coat is the wearing surface. Cultured marble is generally
not recommended for kitchen use.
Q:
Will I have to do any of the work myself?
A: Since we are a full service company, we can handle
any project from
start to finish. We only ask our clients to remove
household items from the cabinets, room, etc., before we start work. We
do however, allow clients to do some of their own work if that is their
wish.
Q: How
big of a mess can I expect?
A: Our installers operate under a very strict policy
of respecting your property. They will cover the floor and isolate the
work area as much as possible. We
always leave the job broom and vacuum
clean at the end of the day. We pride ourselves on being very cautious
and careful with your home and contents.
Q: Do I have to be home all the time the project is in
progress?
A: We are licensed and insured, therefore you do not
need to be home all
of the time. We only ask that you provide us with a
phone number to contact
you in case we can't get in the house or have a
simple question, etc.
Q: Can I
install my own cabinets?
A: Cabinets can be extremely heavy and difficult to
install, you may also
need some specialized tools. Home remodeling
projects involve very strenuous, and occasionally, dangerous work.
Before taking on your own project, you
need to consider certain things
such as asbestos, lead based paint, what
would happen if you were to
damage an expensive cabinet or countertop, what would happen if you were
injured, and last but certainly not least, time. No
one ever seems to
have enough time, and judging how long a project might
take can be a
tricky one so use this as a guide: if professionals say my
project would
take 10 working days, using 2 or 3 workers working 8 hours per
day, that
could add up to 240 man hours. Now consider that these workers
have all of the necessary tools and materials on their truck, (fewer
trips to the hardware or supply house), and do this type of work all
day, every day. Now
if you figure that you can only work on your project
during the weekends,
working 12 hours a day, it would take you 10-14
weeks or more to complete
your own project. That is 3-4 months.
Can your family go that long without a kitchen or bathroom? One more
thing to consider; when products are
installed by people other than
trained, certified professionals the warranty is
usually null and void.
This could potentially wipe out any savings on the
original cost of the
project should there be a problem. However, if you wish to install your
own materials, we will be more than happy to provide them and
deliver to
the jobsite.
